Coach Olaiya
Coach Olaiya is currently a high school math teacher where he teaches Geometry and Calculus. In the past, he has taught Algebra I, Algebra II, and Electronics & Mechanics, and he coached a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team. He studied Mechanical Engineering in Aachen, Germany, and one of his favorite college experiences was working on the SAE Formula Student team as a co-lead for the race car’s structural design.
What draws him to FLL and FTC is the hands-on creativity of the engineering process—building, taking things apart, improving designs, and iterating again and again. I especially enjoy watching students engage in that same process and supporting them as they turn ideas into working solutions.
