LEGO Robotics Programs in Los Gatos for Kids and Teens
If you are looking for premier robotics classes for kids Los Gatos offers the perfect environment at Dr. Owl Academy. Our specialized programs are designed to help kids and teens develop coding, engineering, and problem-solving skills through hands-on STEM projects. Furthermore, students can join our exciting Robotics summer camp 2026, all guided by experienced robotics instructors. Consequently, we proudly welcome families from Cupertino, San Jose, Saratoga, and nearby Bay Area communities.
2026-2027 LEGO Robotics Class
Suitable for students ages 8 – 14
Our robotics curriculum is a structured, step-by-step journey that supports students at all levels, guiding them toward competition-ready engineering skills. Through progressive tracks, students build confidence and real-world expertise in mechanical design, structural engineering, and robotics programming.
Students will learn core programming alongside hands-on engineering concepts like gear systems, linkages, and sensors, applying them in real challenges such as obstacle navigation and precision control. Students will advance to competition-level skills, designing efficient robots and developing modular code while mastering strategy, optimization, and reliable autonomous performance for FIRST LEGO League.
2026-2027 FTC Prep Class
Suitable for students in grades 7 – 12
This intensive, hands-on program introduces students to the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) without requiring a full-season commitment. Designed as a bridge to competitive robotics, it builds a strong foundation in mechanical design, CAD, and advanced programming.
Students work through an FTC-style build process, upgrading a base robot, exploring mecanum drivetrains, and developing both teleop and autonomous systems—gaining the skills and confidence needed to join a competitive FTC team.

2026-2027 LEGO Robotics Trial Class
Our LEGO Robotics Trial Class offers students a first look into our Spring 2026 Robotics program. This introductory session is designed for students ages 8 – 14 who are curious about robotics, engineering mechanisms, and coding.
During the trial class, students will:
Explore basic LEGO robotics components
Build simple mechanisms (such as gears and rack-and-pinion systems)
Try introductory coding blocks, including sensor-based actions like line detection
Experience the structure and teaching style of our regular 2-hour classes
This trial class is an excellent opportunity for families to understand the curriculum and evaluate whether the full Spring 2026 session is a good fit.
Fee: $80 per session
Registration for trial classes will be available after Aug 8th.
